It\u2019s incredible how busy a person can be, when locked down at home\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">KiaOracle is looking forward to some \u201cdown time\u201d to do some creating this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">After a crazy week at work, sometimes I have challenges in \u201cgetting creative\u201d even though that is a major goal\u2026 My perfectionistic mind looks around me and says &#8211; wait a minute\u2026 It\u2019s not time to have fun, until I finish\u2026 (insert never-ending list of household tasks here).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Ugh. I catch myself in that trap SO MUCH. I will allow myself some time to create \u201cafter\u201d the laundry, or tidying the kitchen, or vacuuming\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">What ends up happening?<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Perhaps the laundry\u2026 The tidying\u2026 or the vacuuming\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Maybe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Though, not the mindful moment I was so craving\u2026 before total exhaustion hits &#8211; and the day is over\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">And at the end of the day, my area may look less of a disaster &#8211; but my mind is still tied up with worries and lists of things to do, and should do, and want to do\u2026 This &#8211; if left unchecked &#8211; is really really bad for my inner creative soul. It tamps down my ability to access that creative spark, because it gets crowded out of my life with \u201cthe never-ending list of stuff.\u201d I find myself ending up only doing the list of things of things I must do that fit into the time I have\u2026 and I feel badly that I\u2019m not creating when I want to, too\u2026 That eats at my \u201c<em>je ne sais crois<\/em>\u201d and makes accessing creativity just that much harder\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Not so good.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">On the days that I am mindful about how I spend my time, and spend some moments during that time doing mindful things: my results are far better, and I am more satisfied with my \u201cperformance\u201d or \u201coutput.\u201d That may not be the most mindful way of putting it, but it is a feeling of accomplishment with how I have used my time that cannot be achieved by just tackling a list of objectives\u2026 and I somehow get more done, too\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, what a week.
